Whew! Caught Up...

Whew! Okay, it’s about 7:15 a.m. here (Wednesday, 8/1) in Trichy and I think I’m finally caught up on the blogging to bring you to where we really “are”. Here’s what we have ahead of us today, though the details might look a little different at the end of the day:

  • 9:00 a.m. – meet for breakfast
    • “The Cascade” downstairs makes a mean cheese omelet (or, as I learned from Dexter’s Laboratory on Cartoon Network, “Omolette du Fromage” in French – who says you never learn anything from watching cartoons?!)
  • 10:00 a.m. – morning devotions
    • Don Wolfram will be delivering our morning devotions!
  • 11:45 a.m. – meet TBL staff and facility
    • We’ll get to see “the board” (click here for previous post on other team that describes) and meet the crew that keep things spinning here in southern India.
  • 1:30 p.m. – lunch
  • 3:00 p.m. - shopping for clothes
    • There won’t be a lot of time for “souveniring” on the back end, so we’ll not only do a little of that on the front end, but we will also give the ladies a chance to purchase “native” dresswear.
  • 5:30 p.m. – Rock Fort Temple
    • If you come to Trichy, the Rock Fort is something you just have to see. Click here for explanation from a previous team’s post.
  • 8:30 p.m. – dinner
    • We’ll probably eat dinner here at the Sangam Hotel again.
  • 10:00 p.m. – crash hard!
    • Most teams will leave from Trichy at about 8 a.m. to travel to their respective villages. Some are as far away as 10 – 12 hours. Others are more like 4 – 6 hours.

If things continue to go as planned, I should have a chance to blog a bit tonight to recount whether or not that speculation was actually accurate or not, but in the mean time, the team is doing great, adjusting well, and are having a blast!

Thanks again to all of you who continue to pray for us and keep us in your thoughts and prayers!

Hello Jeanna! I hope your doing well! We've been praying a ton for you guys! I hope your staying cool! I hung out with Maggie the german shepherd last night and she kept stealing my stuff! She ran off with my slipper, my rug and then my sheep! It was pretty funny! :) Ruby and I are both so sore from the jet skis-I need a walker to help me get up and down now. :( We miss you and are excited for you to come home! Have a great day!

Love,
Jerica :)

Hi team,

I absolutley love checking out this blog. As I read these, which are funny, and look at the pictures,I can't help but CRY. I'm a little jealous of you guys, I must admit. I feel like I can actually smell India right through the computer screen. Believe me, the smell of India will forever be in your brains from here on out. Please give my love to Prema, Raj,Aroma, Annan Raj, Immanual, Solomon, and all my other friends. Youa are all in our prayers.

Hi Alli, I am glad to hear you are OK and enjoying yourself. I printed all the blogs and took them to mommo and poppo so they could read about what the team is doing and see the pictures. We are praying that you and the team make it safely to your villages. I can't wait to see what you bought shopping in Trichy. It is so nice to read the updates and see the photos on the blog.Be sure to read the cards that I put in your journal everyday. I miss you and love you. Mom

To Mom Cheryl -
Are you the same Cheryl who I met working at Arby's in the early 80's?

Brandy,
My last message was short because I was late to work and I know you dont want me to loose my job ;) I really miss you and cant wait to talk to you when you get back to hear about everything. I hope you are having great expierences and fun and most of all enjoying what you are doing which I know you are!! Mostly as selfish as it is I hope you come back to all of us especially me safely I would be lost with out your guidance.
